2011 COSMOPOLITAN CABARET SEASON
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING” opens the 2011 Cosmopolitan Cabaret season January 28-May 8, with preview performances January 26 and 27. All 11 of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical collaborations are represented in this 1993 Broadway musical review which received a Tony Award nomination for best musical.
“DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN,” the longest-running solo play in Broadway history will be presented at The Cosmopolitan Cabaret June 1 through September 12. A worldwide theatrical tour de force, “Caveman” has been produced in 45 countries and translated into 30 different languages. This hilariously insightful play explores the ways that men and women relate, through dating, marriage, housekeeping and even shopping.

The season will close with “BINGO – the Musical” September 30-January 8 with previews Sept. 28 and 29. Filled with original songs, this musical comedy takes place at a Bingo game in the basement of St. Bartholomew’s. High stakes are at play, including the friendships and feuds of the women. “A fun, cheerful and witty new show” (L.A. Times), the balls and the bingo cards will be flying, and everyone plays, including the audience. Directed by California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale.
